A person should never make an important decision alone.

Decision-making is important. Thus, some choose to get advice from others in order to make them. When it comes down to me, I find the contrary more beneficial. Decisions which are made alone increase our independence and keep others from harm’s way.

Firstly, by making decisions by ourselves, we feel more independent. Friends and family members are not going to be always there, thus we must be able to rely on ourselves for our own good. For example, my brother would always listen to his friends when they gave him advice. This often if not resulted in bad situations. He eventually realized that he needed to develop a sense of independence and started making more decisions based on his own gut instincts. This change gradually improved his life.

Moving on, by taking advice from others you can put them in danger. If you take someone’s advice and in the end things turn out badly, you are reasonably going to be upset at them. Even if you think you are not, in the back of your brain you are angry at them, this is just how humans work. This in and of itself can develop into broken friendships and family ties. For example, my little sister once took advice from me, and it did not turn out the way we wanted it to. Afterwards, the entire month, she would yell at me for the simplest things like laundry and other household chores.

Wrapping up, I believe that a person should make decisions alone. By doing so, they develop a sense of self independence and put others from harm’s way.
